Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have.

This policy covers this website and the BenchBoss league and team management service (together, "BenchBoss"). It explains what information we handle, how we use it and how you can reach us about it. Using BenchBoss is also subject to our Terms and Conditions.

Information we collect

When you request beta access or email us. We receive the details you enter in the beta form (your name, email address, organization, role, sport, the plan you're interested in, team count, country and any notes) or include in your email.

When you use the service. Depending on how you use BenchBoss, we may handle:

  • Account details, such as your name, email address, phone number and sign-in information.
  • League, team and player information that organizers, coaches, parents or players add, such as rosters, schedules, scores, statistics, registrations, contact details and messages.
  • Payment details for registrations or subscriptions. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we don't store full card numbers.
  • Technical and usage information, such as device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, performance and errors, used to keep BenchBoss secure, working and improving. In the service, this may be linked to your account.

How we use it

  • To provide, operate and support BenchBoss, including the features your league or team turns on.
  • To send messages you or your organization request, such as schedule updates, reminders and announcements.
  • To process payments and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To contact you about the beta, your account and important changes to the service.
  • To keep BenchBoss secure, fix problems and improve how it works.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Text messages

If you provide a mobile number, you may receive text messages from your league or team, such as schedule changes and reminders. Mobile numbers and text message consent aren't shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. You can opt out in your notification settings or by replying STOP.

Leagues, teams and organizers

Much of the information in BenchBoss is added and managed by the league, team or organization you belong to. That organization decides what it collects and who can see it, and BenchBoss handles that information on its behalf. Questions about a specific league's information are best directed to that league first; we'll help where we can.

Children

Youth sports often involve players under 18. Information about minors should be added by a parent, guardian or an organizer acting with a guardian's permission. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information without that permission, contact us and we'll remove it.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run BenchBoss:

  • With the leagues, teams and members you're part of, according to their visibility settings.
  • With service providers that host the service, handle sign-in, send email and text messages, process payments, and provide diagnostics and usage analytics, under agreements that limit their use of it.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and BenchBoss.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Cookies and local storage

This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. If you pick a light or dark theme, your browser remembers that choice locally. The BenchBoss service uses cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and secure, and to measure usage and performance so we can improve it. We don't use them for advertising.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as it's needed to provide BenchBoss, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Beta requests are kept only as long as we need them to contact you about the beta and launch. We use encryption in transit, access controls and other safeguards to protect information, but no system is perfectly secure.

International processing

BenchBoss and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. When we do, we protect it as described in this policy.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop receiving emails from us, at any time. You can also update much of your information directly in your BenchBoss account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them. We won't treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as BenchBoss grows. When we do, we'll change the date above. If you have an account, we'll let you know of material changes before they take effect.
